High Gaitle is a quiet, friendly, family-run 6 acre caravan park situated in the northern part of Cumbria 3 miles from Gretna Green. Its perfect position and transport links make it the ideal place to stay whether you wish to venture North to Scotland, South to the Lake District, or East to Northumberland.
PERFECTLY POSITIONED
High Gaitle has been taken over by the Fairclough Family from August 2025. Our family already own and run a static caravan park in Northumberland and feel that High Gaitle’s position and quiet rural surrounding’s offer the perfect opportunity for developing a touring and camping park.
We are surrounded by a multitude of transport links for you to take advantage of exploring in every direction. The iconic Scottish border town of Gretna Green is just 3 miles away making our park the last in England before crossing the border. Junction 45 of the M6 is only 2.5 miles away. This gives easy access to historic areas of Scotland, mountains of the Lake District and castles of Northumberland!
ABOUT THE PARK
In March 2026 we completed a new development to increase the number of hard standing pitches and electric hook up points. We now have 30 pitches, 28 of which have access to an electric hook up and 18 of these are hard standing !
Our facilities building has toilet and shower rooms, a utility room including washing up facilities, a fridge and freezer, a disabled bathroom and chemical disposal point. We now also have a grey water disposal point and a caravan storage area for those wishing to leave their caravans between holidays!
